What exactly does my child get?+
An on-demand workout library, a daily workout, active minutes, points, badges, and weekly goals — and you can see everything each child has done from your parent account, with a progress recap by email every week.
How long are the workouts and do we need equipment?+
The workouts are short on-demand sessions you can fit into any day. No equipment is required — just a bit of space to move.
What ages is this designed for?+
Built for kids and teens ages 5–17, with age-appropriate coaching and intensity.
Is physical activity risk-free?+
No. Every exercise program carries a risk of injury, and a coach on a screen cannot see your child, assess their health, or respond to an emergency. A parent or responsible adult chooses which activities suit each participant, provides the supervision they need, checks the space and any equipment, and stops the activity for pain, dizziness, unusual shortness of breath, or any other warning sign. Please read the Waiver & Safety Disclaimer in full before anyone takes part.
How do you handle my child's privacy?+
Accounts are parent-managed, there is no chat or direct messaging of any kind, there are no public profiles, and there is no advertising or third-party analytics. The one place a child can be seen by other Built Different families is the leaderboard, and it is off until you turn it on — for a child under 13 that also needs a check that you are their parent. We collect the minimum we need to run the workouts. The Children's Privacy Notice says exactly what we collect and who receives it.
What does it cost?+
The Founding Family Membership is $9.99 a month or $89.99 a year, billed by Apple through in-app purchase. There is no free trial. It renews automatically at the end of each month or year, at the price shown, until you cancel, and you can cancel any time in your Apple Account subscription settings — deleting the app does not cancel it. If we change the price in future we will tell you before it affects your membership, and we will ask you to agree wherever Apple or the law requires it. Illinois customers also have a seven-day cancellation right described in section 4A of the Terms.
